Virginia Smith, 82

 


Virginia Smith, 82, of LaRose Street, Glens Falls, and formerly of Whitehall, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007 at Glens Falls Hospital.

 

Born on June 24, 1924 in Whitehall, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jennette (Taylor) Martel.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Ralph Smith, who died in 1997, and one brother, Robert E. Martel.
Virginia enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and reading and enjoyed spending time with her cat, Beamer.
She is survived by two brothers, William Martel and Harold Martell, one sister, Kathryn Pregent, and a niece, Virginia Breault, and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends called at the Jillson Funeral Home, Inc., 46 Williams Street, Whitehall, on Saturday, Feb. 24, from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., at which time a prayer service was conducted by Fr. David LeFort, Pastor of Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church in Whitehall.
Interment will be in the spring in Greenmount Cemetery.
