Betty (Beatrice) R. Martin

Betty (Beatrice) R. Martin died from a heart attack at her home  on Thursday, Feb. 14.  Betty was the daughter of Bert and Matilda Snody and was born in Dresden on June 26, 1923.  She was 84 years old at the time of her death.

Betty was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Stephen C. Martin, who died on November 22, 2004.
Betty graduated from Whitehall High School and worked for General Electric in the war effort during World War II.  After her children were born, she became a stay-at-home mother and gave all of her time to her family. Her life was her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed her many cats and flower gardens. Betty never refused to take in a stray cat or dog and at the time of her death, had six stray cats that she had taken in as pets.
Betty is survived by her two children, Michael S. Martin and his wife, Trinidad M. Martin, of Glens Falls, and Mary T. Martin of Saratoga.  She is also survived by her four loving grandchildren, Stephen Musci, Lawrence Musci, Amanda Martin and Jake Martin, who were her pride and joy and always in her thoughts. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Betty was fortunate to have a number of family members who visited and called her frequently.  She was always grateful for the time and attention given to her by her family and friends and spoke often of their kindness to her.
At Betty’s request, there will be no services.  Burial will take place in the spring at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA of Upstate New York, Inc., at 588 Queensbury Avenue, Queensbury, NY 12804 at (518) 798-3500 or Warren County SPCA, 55 Bay Road, Glens Falls, New York 12801 at (518) 793-4048.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Michael G. Angiolillo Funeral Home,
