Linda L. Ames

 

North Springfield – Linda L. Ames, 65, died April 14, 2008 at her home in North Springfield.  She was born November 22, 1942 in Granville, the daughter of Floyd and Gladys Lincoln.  She was educated in Granville schools, graduating from high school in 1960.

 

She married Edward (Ned) Ames on August 22, 1961, in Granville.  They moved to Rutland and then to North Springfield in 1964.

Linda was employed for many years at Fellows Corp. and then went to Bond Auto Parts and most recently at the Springfield Hospital.

She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, NASCAR racing and the Boston Red Sox.

Survivors include her husband of North Springfield; a daughter, Michelle Page of North Springfield; a son, Michael Ames of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a grandson, Matthew Hawkins and a granddaughter, Jessica Page, both of North Springfield.

 

She was predeceased by her parents; a sister, Mitzi Liebig, of Granville; a brother, David Lincoln, also of Granvill,e and her grandparents, Charles and Mildred Pecue of West Pawlet, Vt. 

At Linda’s request there were no services.  A celebration of Linda’s life was held at her home at 90 Main Street, in North Springfield on Saturday, April 19.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, in care of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, 1 Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH  03756.
