Joan M. Wright

 

 W. Pawlet, Vt./East Pepperell, Ma. – Joan M. Wright passed away on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008 at Eden Park Nursing Center in Rutland, Vt., following a short illness.

 

Joan was born on June 13, 1944 in Granville, N.Y., the daughter of Harold and Harriet (Howe) Morris.

 

Joan graduated from Granville High School in 1962, Keene State College in 1966 and obtained her Masters Degree from New York State University at Albany in 1968. She worked as a librarian at the Parker Middle School in Chelmsford, Ma. While in Granville, Joan was a member of the Anna W. MacArthur Constellation of Junior Stars, a youth organization of the Order of the Eastern Star. Joan served on the Board of Trustees at the public library in Pepperell, Ma., and as a member of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Pepperell, Ma.

 

Joan was predeceased by her husband Arthur Wright III. Survivors are her son Paul Wright of W. Pawlet, Vt., and brother David Morris and his wife Carolyn of Granville. Also surviving are three nieces: Gwyn Juckett and her husband Phil, Dawn Morris and her companion Kenneth Ballard, all of Granville, and Gail Malinoski and her husband Jay of Lester, Vt.

 

A funeral service was held on Thursday, Aug. 7 at 4 p.m. at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, N.Y., with the Rev. Katherine Raggsdale of St. David’s Episcopal Church officiating.

 

Burial will be in the Wells Cemetery at a later date. Friends were invited to call from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
