Roger W. Hughes

Middle Granville, NY  Roger W. Hughes, age 42, died Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Albany Medical Center.
            Roger was born on March 14, 1966 in Granville, NY the son of Robert and Marilyn (Dekalb) Hughes.
            Roger had been employed as a material handler at Telescope Casual Furniture. Prior to his employment at Telescope he had worked for Mineral Hill Slate Co. and Sheldon Slate Co. Roger was a member of the National Guard reporting to the Whitehall Armory and  a member of the Henry Hose Fire Department. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed NASCAR and football.
            Roger was predeceased by his parents. Survivors are his longtime companion Anne M. Kinney, a daughter Heidi Lynn Hughes of Middle Granville, Anne’s three daughters: Amanda Loomis and her husband Kevin of Whitehall, Nicole Kinney and Amber Kinney both of Middle Granville. Also surviving are a brother Kevin and sister Ruth.
            A funeral service will be held at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, NY on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 11 am. Friends may call on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 from 6-9 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mettowee Valley Cemetery in Granville.
            Memorial contributions may be made to the Granville Rescue Squad, Box 153, Granville, NY or the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street #301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691-4183.
