Gladys Oddy

Gladys Oddy, age 69, of Dublin Road passed away on Thursday, Jan. 8 at Glens Falls Hospital after a long illness.

Gladys was born on Jan. 20 in Stamford, Ct. She was the daughter of the late H. Loraine (Rathbun) and Walter Oddy.

Gladys was a graduate of Hartford Central School class of 1956, and went on to work in Glens Falls at Continental Insurance Company as a key punch operator for 29 years.

Her true passions in life were her dogs, horses and gardening.

In addition she worked the family farm for 40 years.

She was an avid fan of country western music and was a member of the former Al and Kathy Bain fan club

Besides her parents, Gladys was predeceased be her sister Joyce in 1992, and her special friend Napoleon Matte.

Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law Marion and Wayne North of Argyle, and nephews Kevin North of Argyle and West Hollywood, Calif., Randall North of Argyle, and Brian North of New Bern, N.C., as well as many special cousins.

In respecting Gladys’ wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral.

Her cremated remains will be scattered among the sites of her former pets on what was her beloved farm.
