Carl E. Williams Sr.

Carl E. Williams Sr. CMSGT (Ret.) passed away on Jan. 11, 2009 in Falls Church, Va.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine Williams and daughter, Vivian.

Carl is survived by his wife of 51 years, Gwyneth (nee) Sykes; his children Carl, Lorraine (Brian), and Keith; six grandchildren, Teddy, Chrissy, Lindsay, Keith, Lauren, and Emalie; and two great-grandchildren, Alana and Austin.

He retired after 30 years with the U.S. Air Force, having served with distinction in Libya, Vietnam, Germany and many bases in the United States.

A visitation took place on Friday, Jan. 16 from 12 to 3 p.m. at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Rd., Springfield, Va., 22151.

A service with Full Military Honors will take place on Monday, March 2,  3 p.m. at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America, (703) 960-1100.
