Eugene R. “JR” James, Jr.

Eugene R. “JR” James, Jr. passed away on Friday, February 6, 2009 at his residence following a long illness.

JR was born in Glens Falls, New York the son of Eugene and Lucy (David) James Sr.

JR had been employed at Global Slate. He enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting and working on cars. JR liked to watch westerns on TV in the company of his dogs Tashia and Squirty. He also enjoyed talking with his family, either in person or on the phone.

He was predeceased by a brother Matthew James and a nephew Scottie Palmer. JR is survived by his father, Eugene James Sr. and his wife Elizabeth of Salem and his mother Lucy Bennett and her husband Gary of Whitehall. Also surviving are his three sisters: Verna James and her companion Jeff Todd of Whitehall, Renee Mullen and her fiancé Jeff Loveland of Whitehall, and Alizona Gilbert and her husband Paul of Logan, Iowa. In addition survivors include five step brothers: Melvin of Glens Falls, Bernard of Fort Ann, Gordon of Hartford, Michael of Queensbury and John of Albany and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St. Granville, N.Y. Friends may call from 7 p.m. until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Granville Rescue Squad, POB 153, Granville, NY 12832.
