Chicken everywhere

Chicken fans,

The month of August will taste just like chicken with what seems like a dozen BBQs around the region. I’m a big (ha-ha) fan of the Q and enjoy sampling the different takes on the regional recipe. I’m always, or at least I was, suprised that no one I’ve seen so far use actual barbeque sauce. Everyone seems to use that same oil-based coating – no complaints though, good food.

Haynes House of Hope at the music festival- put on the by Hartford Fish and Game Club, 4 or 4:30

West Pawlet Fireman’s Carnival in the village at the carnival- noon and 3 p.m.

both Aug. 1

Rick’s Ride at the K of C Hall, Potter Avenue- put on by the same group of volunteers five years in a row – 4:30 Aug. 8

Let’s see…who else?

Aug. 6, Granville Engine and Hose before the Doc Scanlon’s show in Veterans Park

Seems like more…

Of course the fair has the Argyle guys, believe it or not that is coming up SOON
