Lois E. Schmidt, 72,

Lois E. Schmidt of Pine Bush, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at home. She was 72 years old.

The daughter of George and Marjorie Billings, she was born Feb. 21, 1937, in Whitehall. She was the wife of Howard W. Schmidt Jr. for the past 47 years. 

Survivors are her husband, Howard W. Schmidt Jr., at home; one son, Shane Schmidt and his wife, Donna, of Manchester, N.H.; one daughter, Bonnie Johnson, and her husband, Mike, of Evanston, Wyo.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her son, Gary Winters, and her brother, Buddy. 

Funeral services were held at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home Inc., Walden. 

Cremation was at the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties Inc.
