Peter Keffer-Fries, 27

 

Peter Keffer-Fries of West Palm Beach, Fla., formerly of Winchester, Mass., died unexpectedly on Monday, Oct. 5, 2009.  He was 27 years old. 

 

Peter was the son of Jeffery Keffer of Arlington, Mass., and the late Sandra Fries. He was the grandson of John and Rae Keffer of Indian River Estates, Vero Beach, Fla., whom he visited frequently. John and Rae Keffer owned a farm in Whitehall for 30 years.

Peter was born in Natal, Brazil, and grew up in Winchester, Mass.  He attended the Marvelwood School, Kent, Conn., graduating in 2002.  He was a student at Palm Beach Community College.  He was an accomplished guitarist and musician and member of several bands, including most recently The Sound Mechanics.

He is survived by his brother, Sean Keffer-Fries; his sister, Courtney Keffer-Fries; stepmother, Suzanne Costello; and stepbrothers, Peter Christmann and William Christmann; as well as many adoring aunts, uncles, cousins and many more friends. 

A memorial service was held for Peter on Oct. 17 at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, 630 Mass Ave., Arlington, Mass.

Expressions of sympathy and memorials in Peter’s name may be made to the Peter Keffer-Fries Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Marvelwood School, 476 Skiff Mountain Road, Kent, Conn. 06757.
