Daniel M. Paddock, 78

On Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, Daniel M. Paddock passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He had been fighting a long battle against cancer and congestive heart failure.

 

Daniel was born on May 14, 1931, in Scottsville, Vt., the son of Daniel and Marie T. (Stone) Paddock.

 

 He was well known and liked by many in Granville and Fort Ann area. Dan was a happy man who was always there to lend a helping hand. He worked many years for the town of Granville as a heavy machine mechanic and operator. He also had his own business called “Digger Dan” doing driveway and bulldozer work.

 

Dan was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Donald, Freeman, Martin and Maurice, also his sister Caroline, and sons Gene Daniel and Gene David.

 

Survivors include Sharon Waite, life partner of 21 years; and three daughters, Joan, Sherry, and Gail; and his loving dog Buttons. Also surviving him are a brother, John; and two sisters Ellen and Luella. There are also 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

At Dan’s request he was cremated and a memorial was held on Nov. 1 at the address above.

 

The family would like to thank Washington County Hospice for all of their help and support during this difficult time. Also a special thank you to Dr. Kevin Gallagher and all of the medical personnel who help during his long illness.
