Victoria Diekel has been named the class salutatorian for the Whitehall High School class of 2010.
Diekel is the daughter of Bob Diekel and Beth Molinero, and will be attending Drexel University in the fall to study biology and pre-med.

“I am honored to be able to represent my class with this honor,’ said Diekel. “Although it is an honor, being second in the class is only a number – how you finish in your future is what truly matters. I think that if you follow your dreams, believe in yourself, your future will be bright and ultimately successful.”
Diekel said she has always worked to do her best in accomplishing her goals, including with her schoolwork.
“I have always strived to be best at whatever I am working towards,” said Diekel. “I believe that many different things helped contribute to me achieving this accomplishment. The support that I have always received from my family and my determination to lead a rewarding and successful life are the most important things that helped me accomplish this feat.”
Diekel said she feels her course work in Whitehall and through the New Visions program has prepared her for college.
“I believe that Whitehall has helped me prepare for college and my future by allowing me to participate in the New Visions Health Careers Exploration program,” said Diekel. “With Whitehall being such a small town, the school is very good about giving students the opportunity to experience high school in challenging and unconventional ways. I know that by choosing to make my senior year in high school challenging, I will have better prepared myself for the future.”
