Hazel Williams, 88

H azel Williams, age 88, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at the Orchard Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre in North Granville.
Hazel was born on Sept. 16, 1921, in Sandgate, Vt., the daughter of Franklin and Susan (Jones) Woodard.
Hazel will be missed greatly by her family members. Right to the end she had a smile for those who came to see her and an even bigger smile for the younger family members.
Hazel was predeceased in 1997 by her husband, J “Harold” Williams. She was also predeceased by a son John Williams Jr. in 2006, two brothers, Maurice Woodard and Harold Woodard, and a sister, Corrine Moore.
Survivors are her daughters, Patricia Fontaine of Fort Ann and Bonnie Distasio and her husband, Lou, of Hudson Falls. Hazel is also survived by her brother, Franklin Woodard and his wife, Sandra, of Hudson Falls; and her sister, Bette Boykin of Indiana. In addition, survivors include her grandchildren, Richard Suttle of Vergennes, Vt., Todd Distasio and his wife, Nancy, of Hudson Falls, Michael Distasio and his wife, Amanda, of South Glens Falls, John Williams III and his wife, Carrie, of Virginia, Timothy Williams and his wife, Melissa, of Clifton Park and Bonnie Mabb of Queensbury; eight great-grandchildren; four great- great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
At Hazel’s request there will no calling hours. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the Orchard staff for the excellent care they have given Hazel and the compassion shown to her family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Granville Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 152 , Granville, N.Y.
Arrangements under the direction of the Robert M, King Funeral Home in Granville.
