Raymond N. McEckron Sr., 83

R aymond N. McEckron Sr., 83, of Newville, Pa., passed away July 21, 2010.
Born April 16, 1927, he was the son of the late Harold and Harriet (West) McEckron.
Raymond was preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Jones, and granddaughter, Christine Dimick.
Survivng Raymond are his loving wife, Shirley McEckron; daughters, Linda Fabian, Susan Shaw, Chirley Hall, and Caral Duncan; son, Ray McEckron Jr. of Granville; 18 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Raymond was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Guilford. He was an avid painter and enjoyed aerobics. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6070 in Newville and a volunteer at the senior citizen food bank.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Paralyzed Vets of America at 7 Mill Brook Road, Wilton, N.H. 03086.
