Current budget figures

T he town of Whitehall presented their latest version of the 2011 budget on Thursday, Nov. 4 as part of the annual public hearing on the spending plan.

Budget officer Kathy Jones said that due to new information, the tax rate increase had jumped from a 12.44-percent increase to a 13.61-percent increase, which is almost identical to the 13.68-percent increase in the overall tax levy (from $634,998 in 2010 to $738,989 for 2011).

The board will have another budget meeting on Monday, Nov. 8 at 11 a.m. at the town hall. Watch for more details here and in the Whitehall Times.
