Runners end season at sectionals

T he Whitehall varsity boys and girls varsity cross-country teams finished out the fall portion of the 2010-11 fall athletic season with the Section II/Class D meet at the Saratoga State Park on Nov. 5.

The varsity boys team finished the season with an eighth place finish at the meet, with freshman PJ Ferguson finishing in 18th place with a time of 18:01.

Freshman Tyler Sweenor was the next to cross the line for the Railroaders in 48th place with a time of 19:51, followed by junior Toran Tracy (51st, 20:12), Jared DeRushia (53rd, 20:20), and Michael Mattison (85th, 23:44).

For the girls squad, the duo of freshman Taryn Tracy and junior Marion Gendron finished in 22nd and 23rd place, respectively, posting times of 24:25 and 24:29.
