Shirley was born July 11, 1929, graduated from Granville High School, and married Richard H. Rozell on July 27, 1950. They had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

She had four children, Richard Lee Rozell (Dickie), who died March 7, 1972; a daughter, Mary Ann Ross; and two more sons, David Allan Rozell and Michael Todd Rozell;  a wonderful son-in-law, John L.
