Shirley and her family were longtime residents of Granville. Her maternal grandparents were Minnie (Morehouse) and Guy Duel; paternal grandparents were Sarah (Dudding) and John Owens. Her parents were Mildred (Duel) and Allen Owens.

Shirley was born July 11, 1929, graduated from Granville High School, and married Richard H. Rozell on July 27, 1950. They had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

She had four children, Richard Lee Rozell (Dickie), who died March 7, 1972; a daughter, Mary Ann Ross; and two more sons, David Allan Rozell and Michael Todd Rozell;  a wonderful son-in-law, John L. Ross; four grandchildren, Sabrina Spring (Ross) Hall, John Richard Allan Ross, Shantel Shirose Ross andAmber Gentrey Rozell; and two great-grandchildren, Shayleigh Summer Hall, 6, and Laila Skye Ross, 2.

She was an absolutely wonderful mother, the matriarch of the family and will be greatly missed, and with a little over 60 years of marriage and still wanting to be by her side says it all for her husband, Richard.

We love you!!!

She was buried on Nov. 26.
