Elks holding memorial service

The Grand Lodge of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has mandated that the first Sunday in December be set aside as the day for all lodges to hold a memorial service for departed members.

On Sunday, Dec. 5, at 1 p.m. Whitehall Lodge 1491 will hold its 86th annual Memorial Service.

One of the most solemn duties is honoring departed members: Gordon Foster, Douglas G. Rocque, Mark R. Currier, Clayton Dickinson, and Merwyn Cuthbert.

Guest Speakers include Whitehall Town Supervisor and life member Richard “Geezer” Gordon and the Rev. John Greenough, an Elks member.

All members as well as the public are invited to this tribute to absent members.

Refreshments will be served immediately following the ceremony.
