Wrestlers take Wasaren opener

G ranville rolled out an alternative lineup but handily took home its first league match of the season on Dec. 9, whipping the Schuylerville Black Horses, 52-36. The win moved Granville to 2-0 overall, 1-0 in the Wasaren League, despite giving some of the expected regular starting wrestlers the night off.

Dropping down to 215 the week after a thrilling victory at 285, Eric Hastings won his second match of the year. Joining Hastings, 140-pound Hayden Miller notched a pin for Granville.

Nathaniel Palmer won his second match by injury default at 112 pounds. The Golden Horde received five wins by forfeit from the Black Horses.
