Man arrested in infant’s injury

W hitehall Police arrested William S. Mitchell, 33, of Whitehall, following an investigation into an injury of an infant that occurred while in his care and charged him with the mesdemeanor crimes of third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Police said the incident occurred while the child was in Mitchell’s care in December.

Mitchell was arraigned in Whitehall Village Court and released to re-appear at a later date.

The case was handled by Whitehall Police Officer Frank Hunt Jr., and New York State Police Investigator Frank Borbolla.
