T he operators of the skating rink announced Friday the ice was ready for skating.

Skaters can use the ice any time the gate is open, however, the warming hut might not be staffed and open at that time.

Regular hours will be posted soon, in the mean time skaters can expect the rink and warming hut to be opened daily for several hours after school.

The rink will also be opened for longer periods during the weekends. When the warming hut is open bathrooms are available and free skates are available in some sizes. Those who wish to donate skates to the rink can drop them off at the Granville Village Hall on Quaker Streets – all sizes girls and boys skates are needed.

Organizers advised that when the gates are closed skaters should stay off of the ice as the gates will only be closed when there is something wrong with the ice sheet.
