Friends of a Whitehall man who was seriously injured in a snowmobile accident last month will hold a benefit ride for him on Saturday, Feb. 19, starting and ending at Jen’s Pit Stop on Route 22A in Middle Granville.

Organizer Jennifer Vanderminden said the group is also collecting donations for Shane Gregorio and his family as he recovers from the Jan. 21 accident in West Pawlet, Vt.

Gregorio was hospitalized at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center following the accident, but has since been released. He is not expected to be able to return to work for a long period of time.

The ride will begin at 11 a.m. and will include food and refreshments. The donation is $20 per snowmobile, and non-riders are also invited to attend. There will be raffles, and all proceeds will go to the Gregorio family.

Vanderminden said a special account has been set up at TD Bank for the family. Those who want to mail a check can make it out to “Shane Gregorio” and send it to P.O. Box 679, Wells, Vt. 05774.
