Tyke’s Fishing Derby March 6

This year’s annual Tyke’s Fishing Derby will be held beginning on Sunday, March 6, on South Bay.

The free youth tournament will start at 6 a.m. and will run until 3 p.m.

Elaine Phillips, who is organizing the tournament, said everything is free, including refreshments.

At 3 p.m., there will be a gathering at Bay View Gardens for awards and food. There will be hot dogs and hamburgers, soda and door prizes. “We’ll make sure every child gets something,” Phillips said.

The tournament is into its fourth decade.

Organizers are seeking donations to help put on the tournament. Please contact Mrs. Phillips at 282-0034 or send donations to her at 24 By The Way, Hampton, N.Y. 12837.
