A Mettowee Street man faces two felony charges after State Police said he was found in possession of child pornography.

Ross E. Pardy, 21, was charged with possessing a sexual performance by a child as well as promoting a sexual performance by a child after police served a search warrant at Pardy’s residence just before 8 a.m. Monday.

The New York State Police Computer Crimes Unit Northern Region, with the assistance of the Granville Police Department searched the residence and located the files on a computer there.

Pardy possessed multiple images of child pornography which he also shared over peer-to-peer networks and made the images available to others, police said.

An IP address for a computer found at the scene was found to have the images on Jan. 14 by the computer crimes unit, police said.

When questioned by state police, Pardy admitted to having the images on his computer, Granville Police Sergeant David Williams said.

Following arraignment and processing Pardy posted bail which had been set at $20,000 cash or $40,000 bail and was released pending a later appearance in court.

Possessing a sexual performance by a child is a Class E felony and promoting a sexual performance by a child, a Class D felony; combined the charges could mean 4 1/3 to 10 years in prison if convicted, police said.
