Francis “Fra” Putorti presided over his final Whitehall Village Board meeting Monday, received applause from the board and the audience and summed up his two years as mayor.
“We saved a lot of money by going to a voucher system, we have made great progress on our sewer lines, and we’ve got the three new bridges in downtown,” said Putorti, who is stepping down as mayor to focus on running Putorti’s Market.
There are two things that Putorti has not been able to accomplish, but he said he feels he has made headway on both.
