School Play a Community Affair

The annual school play in Whitehall is much more than your typical school function. The play has become interwoven into the fabric of the community.
This year’s production, “Once Upon a Mattress,” will be staged at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 1 and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 2 in the auditorium at Whitehall High School.
Tickets cost $5, down from last year’s rate of $8, and are available from 9 a.m. to 2:10 p.m. in the library and after 4 p.m. in the auditorium. They will also be available at the door.
Music teachers Chris Palmer and Marc Pratt are once again at the helm of this year’s production, a role they have filled for the last ten years, a period which Palmer describes as “a decade of drama.”
“It really has become an event for the entire town,” Palmer said Monday afternoon as he handed out costumes to eager and excited cast members.
The annual play has become so popular throughout the community….
