Marion Powers, 82

M arion Powers passed away on April 2, 2011 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Marion was born on September 15, 1928 in Granville, New York the daughter of Raymond and Emma (Anthony) Farrar.

Marion’s career was a wonderful homemaker, wife and mother, as well as grandmother and great grandmother. She was very fond of family camping vacations. She enjoyed cards and if alone, opted for solitaire to pass the time. Marion loved shopping. And if she had a ride, she was always ready to go to Bingo.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Powers in 2007. Survivors are her daughters Marilyn Lewis and her husband Don and Karen Powers all of Granville. She was blessed with five grandchildren: Brad Lewis of Georgia, Vt., Amber Lewis-Fitzgerald of Granville, Jared Powers of Pawlet, and Lauren and Carmen Towslee both of Granville, and her great grandchildren: Taylor and Mellisa Park, Keegan Powers, Taylor Reid and Matthew Fitzgerald. Marion is also survived by one sister Dorothy Race of Granville.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 11 AM at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St. Granville. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m.,  Monday, April 4, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the spring at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Granville Rescue Squad, PO Box 153, Granville, NY.
