Joseph H. Golden, 89

 Joseph H. Golden, 89, of Williams Street, passed away at the Haynes House of Hope in South Granville, on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 following a short illness.

Born on July 24, 1921 in Whitehall, he was the son of the late William and Isabelle (Trombley) Golden.

He retired as a postal carrier for the U. S. Post Office in Whitehall.

He enjoyed fishing, especially ice fishing, camping on Lake Champlain and enjoyed watching sporting events on television.  In his later years, he enjoyed taking walks with his friend, Joyce Marviglio.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Eleanor (Ingleston) Golden who died on October 31, 2005.

Survivors include his four sons, Joseph M. Golden and his wife, Edith of Whitehall, Francis R. Golden and his companion, Nemia T. Holmes of Middle Granville, Allan E. Golden and his companion, Sharon Norton of Whitehall and Timothy A. Golden of Whitehall; one brother, William Golden of Whitehall, two sisters, Elizabeth Brisson and Margaret Mayo, both of Windsor, Vermont; seven grandchildren, Tammy DeLancey and her husband David, Stacy Niles and her husband Joseph, Robin VanWeelden, Tammy Ashline, Tina  Rushia, Diana Cosey and Ted Cosey; several great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service was  conducted on Monday, April 18, 2011 at Greenmount Cemetery, with Rev. Michael Flannery, pastor of Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation in memory of Joseph to the Haynes House of Hope, 7187 State Route 149, Granville, NY 12832
