Hayden J. “Sonny” Reed, 72

H ayden J. “Sonny” Reed. 72, formerly of Whitehall, NY died Thursday May 05, 2011 at his home in Forest Dale.

He was born on September 14, 1938 in Pittsford, Vt.,  the oldest son of John Carmi and Theresa Kathleen (Riley) Reed.

Sonny served with the US Army and was employed at Telescope Folding Furniture in Granville,

from where he retired after over 40-plus years of service.   He was an avid hunter, fisherman and all around outdoorsman.

He is survived by a son John Reed of Pittsford; a longtime companion Geraleen Reed of Forest Dale; three sisters Sally Turner of Brandon, Joann Reed Swahn of Rutland, Dorothy Chastaine of Pittsford; one Brother Thomas Reed of Hampton, Y and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Rodney (Weezy) Reed.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m at the Pittsford Congregational Church in Pittsford, Vt., with a reception to follow immediately in the church fellowship hall.

There will be no calling hours.
