Rec Center offers summer programs

T he Whitehall Recreation Center is hosting a number of programs for local youth throughout the summer.

The programs are free of charge and there is no need to show up. Kids only need to show up to participate.

A Baseball program will be held from 11 a.m. to noon on Mondays and Wednesdays and participants will need to supply their own gloves.

A Basketball program will be held from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

A soccer program will be held on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Recreation Center director Daniel Welch said the aim of the programs is to teach children the basic fundamentals of the game and enjoy some fun outdoors in the summer time.

On Fridays, organizers will host a Game Day from 11 a.m. to noon. The program will feature a variety of outdoor games, such as kickball, depending on the week.

There will also be an Arts and Crafts program from 10 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday.

The programs are expected to begin the week of July 18 and will run through the middle of August.
