Organizers for the class reunion of the Granville High School Class of 1971 are taking reservations for the September event.

Elaine Daigle said the committee has organized a number of activities to go along with the reunion dinner and she’s looking for a head count for all of them.

Contact Daigle at (518) 642-1438 or email her at countrycat1@juno.com to RSVP.

The reunion dinner is scheduled for Sept. 24 with cocktails at 6 p.m. and a buffet dinner at 7 p.m. followed by dancing.

The cost is $40 per person or $75 for a couple.

Please respond no later than Sept. 5.

Daigle said the reunion has been planned around events including the Sunday, Sept. 25 Autumn Leaves Car Show and Friday Sept. 23 night football game under the lights at GHS as the Golden Horde face off against the Red Raiders of Mechanicville. The football game starts at 7 p.m.

Saturday will also be full of things for the class of 1971 to do together including a morning golf outing. Contact Gordie Smith or mention your interest in the 8:30 a.m. outing at Pole Valley when contacting Daigle.

Later Saturday classmates will gather for a tour of the ‘tech wing’ at the high school at 4 p.m.

Classmates are coming in from far and wide, Daigle said, so she’s hoping to hear from all of the local people to celebrate their 40th anniversary.
