T he Whitehall Golf team split a tri-match against Hadley-Luzerne and Bolton Monday afternoon at Bend of the River Golf Course in Hadley.
Whitehall fell to undefeated Hadley Luzerne team 5-0 and defeated Bolton 4-1.
Against Hadley Luzerne Whitehall lost several close matches. Al Aubin, Robbie Pereau, and Garrett Bebee all dropped matches 4-3.
Chris Talbert went the distance for Whitehall, playing all nine holes before falling 5-4.
Colby LaChappelle had the toughest draw of the match, falling 4-2 to eventual medalist Zach Pickens who shot a three-over-par 38.
LaChappelle fared better in his match against Bolton winning 4-3 and earning medalist honors with a 49.
Pereau, Aubin and Talbert also won their matches against Bolton.
The tri-match was Whitehall’s first of the season after rain and soggy conditions on many area courses wiped out last week’s slate. Those matches are expected to rescheduled later this season.
The Railroaders travel to Warrensburg this evening and will face the Burghers and Corinth at 4 p.m. They will also play at 4 p.m. on Monday against Fort Ann and Fort Edward and will host Lake George and North Warren at the Skene Valley Country Club at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
