Granville and Schuylerville are tied atop the Wasaren League standing following a Monday victory over the Black Horses at Lake St. Catherine Country Club in Poultney, 3-2. Both teams have lost two matches and have split the season series at a game each.

Granville’s Garrett Brown notched medallist honors in a 3-2 win against the Black Horses number two, Mark Ricci.

Joining Brown with wins were number one Sam McDermott, who also beat a Ricci, in the case Mike, 2 up, and Ian Bixby who won 3-2 at number three.

Nick Kashner and Joey Lea fell in the numbers four and five matches by scores of 3-2 and 1 up.

Granville kept hopes of a Wasaren League title alive Thursday with a must-win against visiting Hoosic Valley 4-1 to split the season series with the Indians.

McDermott shot a 35, for par, and medallist honors of low score in the number two position notching a birdie, giving the shot back with a bogey and playing par on the remainder of the holes.

Brown fell 2-1 to Paul Acker in the top spot match however, Bixby 2 up, Kashner 3-1 and Lea 4-3 rounded out the match with wins.

Granville continued its winning ways taking down Stillwater 4 ½ to ½ Wednesday, Sept. 14 in Saratoga, at the Saratoga Lake Golf Club.

Brown earned medallist honors shooting a 41, number three Brown, McDermott at number one, Bixby (two) and number five Kashner won their matches while at number four Lea split with Stillwater’s Shane Quakenbush.
