Golf splits home opener

T he Whitehall Golf varsity golf team hosted its first home match of the season last Friday at Skene Valley Country Club defeating Fort Edward and falling to Fort Ann.

Colby LaChapelle, Chris Talbert and Adam Koeble all recorded wins forWhitehallin their match with the Flying Forts which they won 3.5 to 2.5.

Garrett Beebe tied his match to give the Railroaders the narrow edge.

Robbie Pereau lost 5-4 to eventual medalist Sean Morency.

In their match againstFortAnn, LaChapelle and Al Aubin each tied their opponents asWhitehallfell 3-1.

The team had a chance for redemption on Monday as they faced off against both teams again at Pole Valley Player’s Club.

The Cardinals however, were able to defeatFortAnnby a margin of 4-1. Pereau recorded the lone win for the Railroaders taking his match two up.

Pereau continued his winning ways againstFortEdwardwinning his second match of the day 4-3. Talbert managed to tie his match butWhitehalllost the match 3.5 to 1.5.
