Ferguson keeping up the pace

P J Ferguson continues his best Steve Prefontaine impersonation winning his second race of the season.

Ferguson’s time of 17:26 paced the boy’s field and was more than 22 seconds faster than the second place finisher.

The win was Ferguson’s second in three races this season. He also finished second at the Queensbury Invitational last month.

Unfortunately his performance wasn’t enough to help Whitehall from dropping the meet to North Warren and Argyle.

Toran Tracy was the only other Railroader to finish in the top ten, completing the 2.9 mile course in 21:22.

The girls managed to place three runners in the top ten but didn’t have enough runners to qualify as a full team.

Taryn Tracy finished sixth with a time of 26:13; Vicky Koeble was seventh with a time of 29:55, and Marion Gendron’s time of 30:48 was good enough for eighth place.

Whitehall will host Lake George at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at the Valley View Golf Course.
