T aryn Tracy had been steady for the girls cross country team all season, consistently finishing in the top ten at dual meets. Last week, that consistency paid off as she broke through for her first win of the season.

Tracy won a girls meet against Lake George on Oct. 11, outpacing the girl’s field by 51 seconds and completing the 2.7 mile course at the Valley View Golf Course in a time of 21:28.

Victoria Koeble finished in third place with a time of 22:31.

On the boy’s side, PJ Ferguson continued to show why he’s one of the best runners in the area winning the boys race with a time of 15:11.

Toran Tracy finished fifth for Whitehall with a time of 17:37 and Tyler Perry, Julian Barber, Tyler Sweenor and Mike Mattison rounded out the top ten with seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth place finishes respectively.

However, Lake George pulled out a narrow 26-30 victory on the virtue of their runners claiming the top three spots after Ferguson.

Ferguson also had a strong showing Saturday at the Burnt Hill Invitational in Saratoga Springs finishing in tenth place in the boys Division 1 race.

Ferguson completed the 3.1 mile course with a time of 16:50.11, the best time among local finishers.

As a team, the Whitehall boys finished in 21st out of 22 teams.
