Don Pardy, 84

D onald Ross Pardy 84, died early Sunday morning October 23, 2011 at Brookside Health & Rehabilitation Center in White River Jct., VT

He was born June 9, 1927 in Plattsburg, NY the son of John & Vida (Adcock) Pardy.

Don was a United State Marine Corps Veteran serving in World War II.

He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1653, of Granville, NY and served as Quarter Master for over 25 years and post Commander. Don was also a member of the J. Claire Carmody Post 39 American Legion, Poultney and the U.S. Marine Corps League Detachment 2, Glens Falls, N.Y., He was also an avid gardener.

Don was employed for many years as a foreman in the finishing Dept. with Telescope Causal Furniture Co. in Granville.

Survivors are his children, Richard Pardy, of Granville, NY, Susan Woodard, of Concord, NH, Sandra Severance, of Middle Granville, NY and John A. Pardy, of West Pawlet, VT. Also by his brother, John Pardy, of Catskill, NY and his sisters, Jeanette Sheppard, of Rainbow Lake, NY, Barbara Campagna, of Stamford, NY, Mary Ziegel, of San Deigo, CA and Sharon Alteri, of Athens, PA., by his eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

He was predeceased by his parents and by his first wife Viola (Sherman) Pardy on July 31, 1987 also by his second wife Nedra (Godfrey) Pardy on July 12, 1999.

A Graveside service will be held on Monday October 31, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Mountain View Cemetery in West Pawlet.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Roberts-Aubin Funeral Home.
