Holiday tree to be on display

T he Historical Society of Whitehall will again, this year, set up a Holiday tree on the 1892 bandstand in Riverside Veteran Memorial Park and light it with memorial light bulbs. Donations will be accepted at $1 for each bulb In Memory of friends and relatives. These memorials will be inserted in the Whitehall Times each week until Christmas. Donations and memorial lists may be sent to the Historical Society of Whitehall at: P.O. Box 238, Whitehall, NY 12887.

In addition the Historical Society is continuing to offer the CD of twenty five years of the newspaper articles of Doris B. Morton at $10 each plus $5 shipping and handling.

Volunteers at the Historical Society Research Center have created three DVD’s of postcards and photos of local businesses and homes. There is an additional DVD of “Trains and Trainmen” available, too, accompanied by steam and diesel train noises and sounds. All of these will make very good holiday gifts at $10 each. Anyone may contact the Society by calling 499-1155 with orders. Mailings are also available for $5.
