Joan Margaret Speiser, 71

J oan Margaret (Fadden) Speiser, 71, of Wells, Vermont passed away on November. 30, 2011.

She was born on April 14, 1940 in Oswego, New York the daughter of Fremont and Thusa (Martin) Fadden.

Joan was a graduate of Oswego High School and Traphagen Art Institute on the Hudson River in New York. She worked at the Martin/Marietta Aircraft Corp. in Florida and at McCall Magazine in New York City as a fashion designer.

Joan  met and married Joseph Speiser, while working in New York. They moved to Wells, Vermont where they continued their careers together as owners of The Gooseberry Store in Manchester, Vt., for over 30 years.

She was predeceased by her husband, as well as her parents. Joan is survived by her three brothers: John Fadden and his wife Fran of Rochester, NY, Harvey Fadden and his wife Betty and Thomas Fadden and his wife Mary Lou all of Oswego, NY as well as several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours or services. Contributions may be made to the Haynes House of Hope, POB 285, Granville, NY 12832 or to the Pember Library, 17 West Main St., Granville, NY 12832

Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church Street, Granville, NY.
