Rose Price Barnes, 98

R ose Price Barnes, 98, passed away on Dec.14, 2011 at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Rose was born on June 15, 1913 in New York City, the daughter of Police Sergeant Charles Claire and Anna Raine Claire

Rose was married to Dr. James Price in North Carolina for 25 years, and to Roy H. Barnes of Saratoga for 25 years, both of whom predeceased her.

She was an Interior Decorator in New York City before moving to her summer home in Lake George. She made the move to Granville in 1964.

Rose was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Granville. She loved gardening and cooking. Rose moved into the Mountainview Commons housing where she enjoyed the companionship of her many friends.

She is survived by her sister, Helen Nolan, also of Mountainview Commons.

At Rose’s request there will be no calling hours. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church,23 Bulkley Ave., Granville, NY at Noon on Friday, December 16, 2011, the mass Rose always attended.  Burial will follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Middle Granville.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St. Granville.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 23 Bulkley Ave., Granville, NY, 12832.
