T wo events are scheduled in the next two weeks to benefit Granville resident Charlie Brown, who has been hospitalized since November because of several illnesses. The benefits will help pay for medical bills and to help do major restoration, which will be required on the family’s home.
The Section Eight Riders will host a basket party beginning at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 19 at the Modern Woodmen Hall in Wells.
There will be a lottery-ticket tree and a raffle. Tickets are $5 for the first sheet and $2 per sheet after that. The first ticket will be drawn at 4 p.m. There will be a 50-cent per scoop buffet.
The committee is still looking for raffle items and donations. Please call Janice Paddock at (518) 345-5078.
Another group of Brown’s friends will be hosting a benefit spaghetti dinner Monday, Feb. 27, at Bernardo’s. Dinner is $5 to eat in and $6 to take out. Seatings are at 5, 6 and 7 p.m. For tickets, please contact (518) 796-4796.
