Jacqueline “Jackie” (Jones) Thomas, 78

J acqueline “Jackie” (Jones) Thomas, 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 16, 2012, at Rutland Regional Medical Center in Rutland, Vt.

She was born on Oct. 4, 1933, the daughter of the late Selina (Gandrow) Jones and Thomas Jones.

Jackie enjoyed bingo, bowling and reading her favorite books.  She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed any movie with John Wayne. She was also a member of the ladies auxiliary of the Whitehall American Legion Post No. 83 where she often bartended, but most of all Jackie loved spending time with her family and friends.

Besides her parents, Jackie was predeceased by her husband, Atlee Thomas, sisters, Mary Rock, Joyce Stannard, Elizabeth Howk and brothers, Thomas Jones and John Jones.

Jackie is survived by her three children, Atlee (Bo) Thomas, Darla Thomas and David Thomas and his wife Amy.  Four grandchildren, Julie (Gosselin) Mickel and her husband Adam, Thomas Gosselin and his wife Kelly, Tyler Thomas, Derek Thomas, and one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Gosselin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 19, 2012, at the Michael G. Angiolillo Funeral Home, 210 Broadway, Whitehall, N.Y.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Greenmount Cemetery, Whitehall, with the Rev. Michael Flannery, pastor of Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church of Whitehall, officiating.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Jackie’s memory to the American Legion Post No. 83, 148 Main St., Whitehall, NY 12887

The family would like to thank the staff of Rutland Regional Medical Center for their compassionate care of Jackie.
