June H. Davis, 78,

J une H. Davis, 78, of Holcombville Road, Whitheall,  passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family following a short illness.

Born on Oct. 12, 1933 in Granville, she was the daughter of the late Lucius and Eva (Stoddard) Hurlburt.

Ma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.  She was a devoted caregiver when people were sick.

She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, feeding the birds and spending time with her family.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Myron Davis, who passed away in 1990, and her son, Richard Davis, who died in 2007; four sisters, Jessie Davis, Eva Holcomb, Anna Holcomb and Alice Brown; four brothers, infant brother Henry J. Hurlburt, Lucius Hurlburt, Charles Hurlburt and George Hurlburt.

Survivors include her daughter, Katherine Hoyt and her husband, Terry of Whitehall, daughter-in-law, Miriam Davis of West Baldwin, Maine, one granddaughter, Nicole Peabody and her husband, Wade of Maine; one grandson, Richard Davis Jr. of West Baldwin, Maine; four great-grandchildren, Ned Peabody, Charlotte Peabody, Myron Davis and Olivia Davis and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was conducted with Rev. Sharon Sauer, pastor of the Whitehall United Methodist Church, officiating, on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, with interment following at the North Granville Cemetery.
