Girl Scouts to host Stuff a Bus Saturday

The Girl Scouts of Northern Washington County will be collecting food for the Granville Food Pantry and the Whitehall Food Pantry during the annual “Stuff A Bus” event Saturday, May 12 at the Price Chopper Plaza in Granville.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Monetary donations will also be accepted to benefit the food pantries. The group’s goal is to fill the Granville Central School bus with nonperishable food donations.

Items especially needed are canned meats, tuna fish and chili, canned or boxed potatoes, rice and pasta products, mayonnaise, spaghetti sauce, canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter and jelly, cereal, soup, canned juices, pudding and Jello.

Also needed are paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, shampoo, soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes, cake and frosting mixes.

All items will be taken to the Granville Ecumenical Food Pantry located at St. Mary’s Church on Bulkley Avenue, Granville and the Whitehall Ecumenical  Food Pantry located at the United Methodist Church, Whitehall.
