Z ach Diekel and Rebecca Lavin continued to star for Whitehall’s track and field team at the Muse Relays held Saturday at Glens Falls High School.

Both placed in two events, including Diekel’s first place finish in the shot put.

Diekel’s throw of more than 44 and half feet was one foot and four inches further than the second-place finisher.

He also placed second in the discus event with a throw of 122 feet and three inches.

Lavin recorded two second-place finishes in girl’s jumping events.

She recorded a leap of 14 feet, eight inches in the long jump, and 31 feet, 11 inches in the triple jump.

Diekel and Lavin were the only athletes from Whitehall to place at the event.

Tuesday’s home meet against Lake George, Tamarac, and Berlin was postponed due to the weather. A make-up date had not been announced as of Tuesday afternoon.

The team will compete at the Queensbury Invitational beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 12.
