Falls sports start dates released

A lthough it’s still summer, student athletes at Whitehall High School will be returning to the practice fields in the following weeks.

Members of the varsity and junior varsity football teams will begin practice on Monday, Aug. 13. Players will be fitted and receive equipment at Whitehall High School at 3:30 p.m. Practice will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

Most other sports will follow a week later.

Junior varsity and varsity soccer will begin practice at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 20, behind the Whitehall Elementary School.

Varsity golf will begin at 8 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 20. Players will meet at the Skene Valley Country Club.

Cross-country will wait until Aug. 27 to begin practice. All runners are asked to meet at 10 a.m. at the high school.

Anyone who is interested in playing and has not signed up already should contact Keith Redmond, Whitehall’s athletic director, at 499-1770. A parental sign-up form and physical examination are required before participating in any practice.
