Kate Becker has been Granville High School’s volleyball coach for less than three weeks now, but she’s bursting with the excitement as she looks another three weeks down the road.

“We’re really looking forward to ‘Ace For The Cure,’ said Becker, whose team will host its third annual tournament, inviting in Waterford-Halfmoon, Hadley-Luzerne and Warrensburg for a tournament that starts at 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 22.

“All of the proceeds will go to breast cancer causes,” said Becker, who is also a new social studies teacher at the school. Becker said the day will be more than just a volleyball tournament.

“We’re going to have kids’ stations, where they can color posters, there will be giveaways and we will be selling baked goods and T-shirts,” she said.

The team is actively looking for donations and sponsors. Those interested can contact Becker at the high school at 642-1051.
