Ferguson finishes 2nd; team falls to N. Warren

L ake George’s Dan Jardine edged PJ Ferguson by three seconds to claim first place in an Adirondack League cross-country race held last Tuesday in Whitehall.

Jardine finished the 2.64-mile race in 15 minutes, one second, just ahead of Ferguson. John Farrone of Lake George finished third, but North Warren pushed across the next five runners to win the meet, defeating Whitehall 20-40 and Lake George 25-36.

Andreas Meyer-Giesow finished ninth with a time of 17:41.

North Warren’s Megan Erikson won the girl’s race in 17:24 but fell to Lake George, which was the only school of the three that fielded a complete girl’s team.

Whitehall’s Taryn Tracy finished fourth with a time of 21:24.

Lake George and Whitehall did not score against each other because they faced off earlier this month.

The Railroaders will compete at the Burnt Hill Invitational this Saturday and square off against Argyle and North Warren in North Warren next Tuesday.
