X-C team wraps up season

P J Ferguson led the way for Whitehall’s cross-country team as it wrapped its season last Friday at the Section II Championships in Saratoga Springs.

Ferguson finished 13th in the race to pace Whitehall, which finished ninth out of 14 teams. He covered the 3.1 mile race in 17:19.15.

Greenwich’s Jeremy Spiezo won the race in 15:24.78.

Tyler Sweenor finished 56th (19:39.59); David Greenough 61st (19:53.34); Andreas Meyer-Giesow 63rd (19:56.93), and Dylon Morrill 79th (21:23.94).

Michael Mattison, the team’s only senior, ran his final high school race, finishing in 118th place with a time of 25:31.46.

Taryn Tracy finished a strong season by finishing 30th in the girl’s race with a time of 23:46.69.

Haley Wiskoski was the only other female runner to compete for Whitehall. She finished 60th with a time of 27:23.73.

Madeline Montague of Greenwich won the girl’s race in 17:51.24.

Greenwich captured both the boys and girls team titles.
